What Exactly is Conveyancing?

Conveyancing is the transfer of legal title of real property from one person or entity to another. There are normally two stages to this – the first being the exchange of contracts, the point at which the terms of the deal are fixed, and the second being the completion, where the legal title passes.

While, strictly speaking, it is possible to deal with your own conveyancing, this is a detailed and somewhat complicated legal process that is not without its share of pitfalls. By working with Astute Conveyancing, you won’t have to worry about:

  • Checking the Current title searches and obtaining or interpreting certificates/searches for the property.

  • Liaising with the buyers or sellers representatives to progress the transaction.

  • Making enquiries to iron out any outstanding or raised issues or negotiations.

  • Liaising with mortgagee/banks/brokers and dealing with special conditions.

  • Submitting State Revenue Office documents and transferring funds for the required stamp duty.

  • Registering your ownership with the land registry.

Does that sound like a weight off your shoulders? Call us today!
